Every week at Ichi語 Language School, we welcome students from all over the world. But lately, something exciting has been happening — visitors who aren’t here to study long-term are discovering us too. Tourists, travellers, and first-time visitors to Japan are joining us for just one day, and leaving with something they’ll never forget.
We call it the One Day Japan Experience, and honestly? It’s become one of our favourite things we do.
What Is the One Day Japan Experience?
It’s a 3 Hour
cultural and language session designed for anyone visiting Fukuoka — no Japanese knowledge needed, no long-term commitment, just a fun, hands-on experience packed into one morning or afternoon.
In just a few hours, you’ll:
🎌 Learn Japanese survival phrases — our teacher guides you through a 45-minute language session covering greetings, useful phrases, and how to write your name in Japanese. You’ll leave with your own original phrase booklet to keep.
✍️ Try calligraphy — write your favourite Japanese word on a traditional card to take home as a souvenir.
🎴 Make origami — fold your own Japanese paper creation to keep.
🍙 Cook Japanese food — make either onigiri (Japanese rice balls) or dango (traditional sweet dumplings) and enjoy them fresh right there in the classroom.
Everything is included — all materials, your phrase booklet, your calligraphy card, your origami creation, and of course the food you make yourself!
Morning or Afternoon — You Choose
We offer two time slots to fit your travel schedule:
🌅 Morning session: 9:30 AM – 12:30 PM
🌇 Afternoon session: 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM

Who Is It For?
Honestly — everyone. We’ve had solo travellers, couples, families, and groups of friends join us. There are no age restrictions and absolutely no Japanese knowledge required. If you’re curious about Japan and want to do something a little different during your time in Fukuoka, this is it.
